Duncan Gardiner with Setsu Masuda (piano) Duncan Gardiner's web site	Chamber Jam at The Ellington Guitar and piano duets are a rare beast but in the hands of Duncan Gardiner and Setsu Masuda, the result is breathtaking and beautiful. Gardiner and Masuda each bring their own specialities to create a blend of music including exotic scenes of the Japanese cherry blossom, intricate and complex works of Bach, sweet sorbets from the 19th century, throbbing and passionate tangos alongside meditative and heartfelt originals. Craig Ogden presents works for guitar, including the world premiere of his own composition Diurnal, commissioned by UWA in celebration of the centenary. Ogden’s many recordings for Virgin/EMI, Chandos, Nimbus, Hyperion, Sony and Classic FM have received wide acclaim. The Guitarist and Summertime both shot straight to no.1 in the UK classical chart in 2010 and 2011 respectively. Warana Concerto Competition Melissa Fitzgerald (guitar) Leo Brouwer: Concerto elegiaco (2nd and 3rd movts)	Musical director: Christopher Dragon; Co-director: Peter Moore Performed by: The Faith Court Orchestra with soloists Simon Frosi [Camille Saint-Saens:Piano Concerto No. 2 in G-minor (1st movt)], Melissa Fitzgerald [Leo Brouwer: Concerto elegiaco (2nd and 3rd movts)(guitar)] and Hannah Th'ng [Alexander Scriabin: Piano Concerto in F-sharp minor (3rd movt)] Three fabulously talented students - Simon Frosi, Melissa Fitzgerald and Hannah Th'ng - battle it out for WAAPA's highest honour: the prestigious Warana Prize. Over the years this competition has featured the cream of WAAPA's classical music students, and winners of the Warana Prize invariably go on to establish exciting and successful musical careers after graduation. Jonathan Fitzgerald (classical guitar) Chamber Jam one of 3 acts at The Ellington Jazz Club Two more gigs on the night:- McKay / Liang / Vasileva Trio (piano trio) and the WA Trombone Choir	Praised for his “impeccable tone” and performances filled “with passion from the start to the end,” American classical guitarist Jonathan Fitzgerald is quickly gaining international recognition as a performer and pedagogue. He has presented concerts, masterclasses, and educational workshops and lectures across the United States and Australia. His playing has been recognized through numerous awards, including the Great Lakes International Guitar Competition in which he was a prize-winning finalist and winner of the “Audience Choice” award. Jonathan earned his Doctor of Musical Arts degree (presently ABD) at the world renowned Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, and Bachelor and Master of Music degrees at the Cleveland Institute of Music. A recipient of the Jack L. Frank Award for Excellence in Teaching, Jonathan is a dedicated pedagogue with nearly a decade of teaching experience at the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels. Hawaiian Ukulele Legends (USA) Kimo Hussey and Zanuck Lindsey, with Sam and Lucy Lemann & Sophie Elton	Kimo and Zanuck are internationally renowned recording artists and television performers.
