Pears and Bream premiered new works by modern masters such as Britten, Tippet and Berkeley, while also bringing to light the glories of the lute music of the Elizabethan golden age. Boyd Meets Girl pairs Australian classical guitarist Rupert Boyd with American cellist Laura Metcalf in a duo that performs an eclectic repertoire from Bach to Beyoncé, including many of their own arrangements. The New York-based couple, partners in life and music, are both acclaimed soloists in their own right: Rupert Boyd is recognized as one of the most talented guitarists of his generation while Laura Metcalf has been described as "brilliant" by Gramophone Magazine. Together these two outstanding artists create musical magic as they perform a mix of the classic and the contemporary modern in this distinctive instrumental combination.
